21 and Over
For all you designated drinkers, here are some summer must-haves at your poolside party. Don�t forget, you can also add a kick to any of our other drink recipes by adding a jigger of your favorite alcohol, such as rum or vodka.
Caribbean Breeze 2oz. Coconut Rum (Malibu rum works great)
1oz. Vodka
Splash of Orange Juice
Dash of Grenadine
Shake all ingredients in a shaker and serve in a tall glass. Makes one serving.
Martini
The trick to any martini is to pre chill the vermouth, gin, shaker and glass in freezer and to �shake� not �stir� the mixture.
1oz.Dry Gin
3/4oz. Vermouth
One Olive
Shake all ingredients together and pour into chilled martini glass. For an added twist try twisting an orange peel above the glass to create a �sweet martini� or add 1/2oz.of sweet vermouth to create same effect. For chocolate lovers, add 3/4oz.Godiva Chocolate Liqueur shake and serve. Makes one serving.
Old Fashioned Margarita
6 oz. Cuervo (or any other tequila of choice)
2 oz. Triple Sec
Dash of Sour Mix and Lime Juice
Blend with ice, serve on the rocks or strain into salt rimmed glass. Garnish with lime wedge. For added flavor, add 8 oz. frozen strawberries to alcohol blend until smooth and serve in chilled glasses. Other alternatives include adding apple schnapps, raspberry liquor or melon liquor. Add just one of a combination of liquors to create an explosion of flavors. Makes 1 serving.
Sangria
2/3c. Lemon Juice
1/3c. Orange Juice
1/4c. Sugar
1 Bottle Dry Red Wine
Strain juices in to pitcher and stir until sugar has dissolved. Stir in wine and add ice. Garnish with orange slices. Makes 2 servings.
Sparkling Citrus Punch
2c.Cold Water
1can.Frozen Tangerine or Orange Juice Concentrate
1can.Frozen Grape Juice Concentrate
1Bottle Sparkling Water
750ml. Bacardi Carta Blanca (light-dry)Rum
In a punch bowl, mix all ingredients. Chill for two hours stirring occasionally. Serve over chilled ice. A popular ingredient to add once the punch has been chilled for a couple of hours is a 2 liter bottle of chilled club soda. Makes 8 servings.
Watermelon Cooler Syrup
1/4c.Water
1/4c. Sugar
2c. Seeded Watermelon Chunks
2oz. Vodka
1/4c. Fresh Lime Juice
Boil water and add sugar. Stir until sugar has completely dissolved. Cover and let chill until ready to use. In a blender puree watermelon chunks until smooth and stir in 1/4c. syrup, vodka and lime juice. For added taste one can also include 1/4c. Triple Sec and blend with all ingredients
