Bus crash sends seven to hospital
CRANSTON, R.I. (AP) -- A RIPTA (RIP'-tah) bus collided with a car in Cranston this afternoon, sending several people to the hospital with injuries. The crash occurred just before three this afternoon. Police say the bus was sent into a utility pole after getting into a collision with a car that had just pulled onto the street. Seven people were transported to the hospital with injuries -- four from the car, and three from the bus, including the bus driver. It was the second collision involving a RIPTA bus in as many days. Yesterday, a RIPTA bus collided with a light pole in the parking lot at Lincoln Park. Police say the driver of that bus was temporarily blinded by the sun.
