Spanish radio reporter taken captive in Iraq
Email to a Friend Printer Friendly Version

Madrid, Spain-AP -- Spanish state-run radio says one of its reporters has been taken captive by Iraqi insurgents.

Spanish National Radio says correspondent Fran Sevilla was abducted while traveling in south-central Iraq to report on a sermon by anti-U-S cleric Muqtada al-Sadr (mook-TAH'-duh ehl SAH'-dur).

The radio network's news director says fighters loyal to the cleric are holding Sevilla in a mosque. He says the reporter apparently has not been harmed.
