(Scotland-AP) -- A man and a woman were shot to death and a 15-month old girl critically wounded inside aScotland (Conn.) home.

Police identified the victims as 23-year-old Shara Bartholomew and her daughter Ava Bartholomew-Powell. The identify of the male is being withheld pending notification of relatives.

Police say a family member found the victims at about 1:40 pm inside the home on Hanover Road.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene. Bartholomew was transported to Backus Hospital in Norwich, where she died. The baby girl was transported by helicopter to a Rhode Island Hospital, where she is in critical condition.

State police Sergeant Paul Vance says Bartholomew and the male appeared in family court in Putnam for a custody hearing Monday morning. and both came back to the Hanover Road home following the appearance.

Vance says the three victims were together in a room when the incident occurred.

Vance says police are not looking for any suspects outside the home and no arrests have been made. He says the woman had been living in the home for several months, and this was the first time police had been called to there.
