A Timex watch that can pay some bills
Las Vegas-AP -- Some of the traditional brand names that are at the Consumer Electronics Show are showing an urge to break some traditional boundaries. Timex is adding some new features to its watches. It's a case of Timex meets the debit card.
The watchmaker has a deal with Exxon-Mobil to develop the Speedpass watch. If you flash the special watch at the Speedpass pumps at Exxon Mobil stations, it will pay for the gas.
The watch can buy groceries and in Chicago, the Speedpass watch is good at McDonald's.
Speedpass watches look no different than an ordinary Timex watch and come in eleven different styles.
Timex warns you to treat the watch like you would a credit card or debit card.
