Garciaparra watches Hamm sit on bench
( Columbus , Ohio-AP) -- Where�s Nomar?
That was the question on many Red Sox fans minds during today�s
(Sunday) regular season finale against the Tampa Bay Devil Rays.
The answer. Garciappara had been given permission by the team to travel to Columbus, Ohio to see his fiancee�soccer star Mia Hamm�play in a women�s World Cup soccer match.
The trouble is, Hamm did NOT play. U-S coach April Heinrichs kept her out of the 3-nothing win over North Korea to rest her for the quarterfinal match against archrival Norway.
With the Red Sox in the playoffs, Garciappara may not get to see Hamm play in the World Cup at all.
