Patriots cornerback Asante Samuel voted Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Week
(Foxboro-AP) -- Patriots cornerback Asante Samuel has been voted Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Week by voters on NFL.com.
Samuel recorded two tackles and returned an interception 55 yards for a touchdown in New EnglandÔŅĹs 23-to-16 win over the New York Jets last week. His interception return-touchdown was the first interception and touchdown of his career.
Meanwhile, the injury bug continues taking big chunks from the Patriots. Tight-end Fred Baxter has been added to list of the walking wounded with a leg injury. His status is questionable for this weekendÔŅĹs game against the Redskins in
Washington.
