Theo Epstein praised Grady Little yesterday
Email to a Friend Printer Friendly Version

(Boston-AP) -- Red Sox general manager Theo Epstein praised Grady Little yesterday but wouldnt discuss whether the manager would be asked back for next season.

Epstein spoke before the Red Sox clinched the American League wildcard with a win over the Baltimore Orioles.

Epstein says Little has done a fantastic job managing the team after coming out of spring training with a lot of unanswered questions.

Little is in his second year as Bostons manager and is signed through this season. Epstein says hes not sure if Littles status would be resolved by next week.

Epstein says he and Little have talked about a postseason roster and whether it would include ten or eleven pitchers.

Boston opens the best-of-five first round at Oakland next Wednesday and has until that day to submit its 25-man roster.
