(Boston-AP) -- The Red Sox can start preparing for the postseason after wrapping up the A-L wild card. The Red Sox clinched and eliminated the Seattle Mariners by trouncing Baltimore 14-to-3.

Boston hasnÔŅĹt appeared in the postseason since 1999, when they beat Cleveland before losing to the New York Yankees. Boston will take on Oakland next week.

Nomar GarciaparraÔŅĹs three-run homer put the Red Sox ahead 7-to-0 in the second inning. Garciaparra finished with four R-B-IÔŅĹs.

Kevin Millar (mih-LAHRÔŅĹ) also hit a three-run blast and Jason Varitek added a solo shot. Bill Mueller chipped in with three hits and three R-B-IÔŅĹs, raising his league-leading average to .327.

Derek Lowe is 17-and-7 after holding the Orioles to one earned run and just two hits in six innings.

Omar Daal was chased in the second and dipped to 4-and-11.

Boston opens a weekend series in Tampa today with Pedro Martinez scheduled to pitch againt the Devil RaysÔŅĹ Jeremi Gonzalez.
