(Foxboro-AP) -- The New England Patriots placed linebacker Rosevelt Colvin and guard Mike Compton on injured reserve today and signed running back Patrick Pass and offensive lineman Wilbert Brown.

The 26-year-old Colvin broke his left hip in the Patriots second game of the season at Philadelphia and sat out yesterdays 23-16 win over the New York Jets.

The 33-year-old Compton hurt his foot against Philadelphia and missed the game against the Jets.

Pass was drafted by the Patriots in the seventh round in 2000 and spent three seasons with the team. He was among New Englands final cuts in training camp this year.

Brown played in 14 games with the Redskins last season. He joined the NFL as a rookie free agent with San Diego in 1999 and stayed there in 2000 but didnt play. He signed with Tampa Bay in 2001 and was allocated to Frankfurt of NFL Europe.
