(East Providence-AP) -- Moderate income families in Rhode Island face a shortage of affordable housing.
That's according to the Rhode Island Builders Association.
The group says that the majority of communities in the state, a three-bedroom house is too expensive for half of Rhode Island's households.
The association says a new study shows that in 89 percent of Rhode Island there are no three-bedroom homes under 150-thousand dollars.
The report says homes under 150-thousand dollars are only available in Providence, Pawtucket, Woonsocket, Central Falls, Warwick and Cranston.
