Rescuers work around the clock to pull injured boy out of a cave

Albuquerque, New Mexico-AP -- Rescuers have been working throughout the night to get an injured teen-ager out of a cave in New Mexico.

They say the job could take all day.

The 14-year-old Boy Scout fell off a ledge inside the cave yesterday while hiking with his troop. The 15-foot drop may have broken the boy's leg. Rescuers have already managed to give him a splint -- but there is still a lot of difficulty ahead.

Rescuers must strap the boy to a skid and then slowly push and pull him a mile and a-half out through small spaces.

The cave is very tight -- sometimes with crawl space that's only two feet high.

A spokesman for the U-S Bureau of Land Management says the teen himself is doing fine and is actually in good spirits.
