Head Of Arena Authority Resigns After Eyewitness News Exclusive Investigation

Providence-AP) -- The chairman of the Providence Civic Center Authority has resigned one day after a disclosure that board members received free tickets to events.
Mayor David Cicilline announced Joshua Teverow resigned after the two met today over the ticket scandal and plans for the center.
Cicilline has asked the nine-member board to revoke the free ticket policy and has hired a consulting firm to investigate the authorityÔŅĹs management.
The authority is partially funded by the city. It received about 400-thousand dollars in city subsidies last year.
Eyewitness News broke the story last night and reported that board members received 64-thousand dollars in free tickets. The board also bought some tickets with taxpayer money and handed them out at no charge.
Though the board approved the policy, Cicilline says itÔŅĹs unfair for board members to compensate themselves with tickets.
