Man Charged With Internet Wire Fraud
(Providence-AP) -- A Pennsylvania man who prosecutors say worked with a partner from North Kingstown has been charged with Internet auction fraud.
Twenty-year-old Ryan Craig of Lancaster will be summoned to U-S District Court in Providence to be arraigned on one count of wire fraud. The charge was filed last week.
Prosecutors say he conned Internet shoppers out of more than 77-thousand dollars through fraudulent auctions.
The U-S attorney's office says he posted nonexistent merchandise for auction and convinced bidders to wire money to co-conspirators including Arthur Jordan of North Kingstown.
A year ago, Jordan pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit wire fraud. He has not yet been sentenced.
