Filmmakers lampoon upcoming Star Wars flick
Email to a Friend Printer Friendly Version

JACKSON, Miss. A new "Star Wars" movie trailer is getting thousands of hits on the Internet -- but it's not for the latest installment hitting American screens later this week.

It's a spoof called "Star Wars Episode Three: A Lost Hope."

The six-minute parody is the work of a group of filmmakers in Mississippi. It pokes fun at new and old "Star Wars" characters. In this one, Yoda's tiny green hand is wrapped around a cold beer, not a lightsaber, as he listens to Mace Windu complain about being the only black on the Jedi Council.

The man who wrote, directed and starred in the parody says "the prequels have left themselves open to be lampooned." He has also lampooned other films including "The Matrix" and "Fight Club."

"Star Wars Episode Three: Revenge of the Sith" opens in the U-S on Thursday.
