Government to seek more airline passenger data
WASHINGTON You may soon need more than money or a credit card to buy an airline ticket. In the coming weeks, the Transportation Security Administration plans to require airlines to get passengers' full names and birth dates when they make a purchase.
A T-S-A official says you won't have to provide that information. However, he says there's a better chance you'll have to undergo more stringent screening at the airport if you refuse.
T-S-A says having passengers' full names and birth dates will make it less likely that they'll be confused with people who are known or suspected terrorists.
