State gets grant for substance abuse treatment for inmates

PROVIDENCE, R.I. The US Department of Justice has awarded the Rhode Island Justice Commission 170,000 dollars to provide substance abuse treatment to inmates.

The funds will be used at the state's minimum security prison, as well as the Training School, which is the juvenile correctional facility.

The funds will be used at the minimum security prison for intensive residential substance abuse treatment and case management.

At the training school, it will support a residential substance abuse program for male residents.

It will also pay for drug testing,
