Providence fire truck catches fire in Roger Williams Park
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) -- Providence firefighters were busy trying to put out a blaze today�in their own fire truck.
Engine Eleven was completely burned this morning at Roger Williams Park in Providence, after a fire started in the engine compartment.
The truck�s crew tried to extinguish the blaze with fire extinguishers, but to no avail. They had to call in another truck instead to subdue the stubborn blaze.
One firefighter twisted his ankle and was taken to a hospital, but no other injuries were reported. The fire has been put out.
A fire official says the circumstances of the fire were considered unusual.
