Bill calls for study of environmental causes of breast cancer
WASHINGTON Senator Lincoln Chafee has introduced a bill that calls for a study of the environmental causes of breast cancer. The Breast Cancer and Environmental Research Act would authorize 30 million dollars over five years for the research. Breast cancer is the second-leading cause of cancer deaths in women, according to Chafee's office.
Chafee is a Rhode Island Republican. The legislation is sponsored by other Republicans and Democrats.
