CASTROVILLE, Texas An apparent murder-suicide has left four people dead in Castroville, Texas, including the alleged shooter.

Police say a man upset over a breakup slipped into his ex-girlfriend's home last night and killed her, her mother and her seven-year-old brother.

Two other people were wounded -- the ex-girlfriend's 13-year-old sister and 41-year-old stepfather. Police believe the gunman then killed himself.

The sister is in stable condition, and the stepfather is listed as critical.

Authorities described a grim scene, with shotguns shells all around. They say the shooter had to reload at least once, and they believe the family was trying to escape.

Police say some of the victims were repeatedly shot.
