Email to a Friend Printer Friendly Version

(Washington-AP, Mar. 11, 2005 7:37 AM) _ About 500,000 Black and Decker blenders are being recalled because their blades can weaken or break.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission says there have been at least 18 such cases involving the blenders, though no one has been injured.

The $40-to-$60 blenders were made in China and sold nationwide by retailers from December 2003 to January of this year.

The five-speed, 550-watt ProBlend blenders with 48-ounce glass jars bear model numbers BL-5000, BL-5900 or BL-6000.

Consumers can get a free replacement blade by calling 800-385-6686.
