Democrats say Bush's budget makes deficits worse
WASHINGTON Democrats say President Bush's budget will make deficits worse. Delivering the party's weekly radio address, Senator Kent Conrad of North Dakota says the president's budget passes on "a crippling and growing debt to our children and grandchildren."
And the senior Democrat on the Senate Budget Committee says Bush's plan for creating private savings accounts as part of Social Security will only "dig the hole deeper" because he would borrow money to set them up.
Meantime, a new congressional analysis of Bush's fiscal plans sees no end in sight for huge amounts of red ink.
