Funeral today for slain husband of federal judge
CHICAGO Authorities are being especially cautious about security for a federal judge and her children ahead of the funeral today for the judge's murdered husband. Judge Joan Lefkow and her children have been in protective custody since the shootings of her husband and her elderly mother Monday.
Police have banned parking on the streets around St. Luke's Episcopal Church in suburban Evanston, Illinois for Michael Lefkow's funeral services today. Funeral services for Lefkow's mother, 89-year-old Donna Humphrey, are expected to take place in Denver.
Meantime, the F-B-I hopes a 50-thousand dollar reward offer will help raise the public's cooperation in the still-unsolved slayings.
Agency officials acknowledged Friday they don't have a suspect and don't know if a white supremacist who once tried to have the judge killed was involved. The judge found the bodies when she came home.
