In February 2005, WPRI Shows household ratings growth
Closest ratings race at 6 and
11pm in a decade
Once again, more viewers are making the switch to Eyewitness News at 5, 6, 10 and 11pm.
At 5pm, WPRI gained 20% more viewers, the most growth of any 5pm news in the market.
At 6pm, WPRI gained 17% more viewers, narrowing the gap between WJAR and WPRI to only six share points. This is the closest the race has been at 6pm in over a decade.
At 11pm, WPRI was the only newscast to gain viewers, narrowing the difference between WJAR and WPRI down to seven share points, again the lowest share difference since 1994.
�We are very pleased in our February performance,� said WPRI/WNAC News Director Gary Brown. �We brought viewers great investigations, unsurpassed coverage of the Super Bowl, and superior team coverage of the major winter storms that struck our area.�
WNAC, Fox Providence, also showed growth at 10pm, increasing it�s audience significantly from February 2004 to February 2005.

WPRI is owned and operated by Rhode Island based LIN Television. LIN owns and/or operates 23 stations across the country. LIN is traded on the NYSE as TVL. WNAC TV is owned by Super Towers Inc., and operated by LIN TV.
