Lesbian's picture in tux banned from Florida high school yearbook

GREEN COVE SPRINGS, Fla. A tuxedo-clad student's photo has been yanked from a Florida high school yearbook because the principal says the outfit broke an unwritten dress code.

Fleming Island High School student Kelli Davis is a lesbian.

Her mother says the dispute should not be treated as a gay rights issue, but as a human rights issue.

Most of the two dozen people who spoke at a school board meeting supported Davis, but the board took no action. The school superintendent says the principal's decision will stand.

The student editor of the yearbook was fired after refusing to remove the picture.
