Pennsylvania Supreme Court justice detained at airport because of knife in luggage
HARRISBURG, Pa. A Pennsylvania Supreme Court justice could face federal charges because of a pocketknife. Justice Thomas Saylor was detained briefly Friday at Pennsylvania's Harrisburg International Airport after screeners found a pocketknife hidden in his carry-on bag.
Officials say screeners had told him earlier that the knife could not be taken onto the plane.
A spokesman says Saylor was "presented with a number of alternatives" about what to do with the small Swiss Army-style pocketknife attached to a key chain.
Saylor said the knife was a gift from a friend and he did not want to lose it.
A prosecutor is considering whether charges are warranted. Saylor could be fined up to six-thousand dollars if charged with attempting to circumvent security.
