Suspected Bank Robbers Caught
Cranston-- Two suspected bank robbers are caught. Police believe two local men are resposible for a string of robberies here in Rhode Island.
Michael Capaldi and John Chiellini were arraigned today. Police say one of the men robbed Coastway Credit Union on Reservoir Avenue and got away with cash.
A short time later, Capaldi and Chienelli were seen by police getting into what witnesses say was the getaway car.
Following their arrests, East Providence Police noticed similarities between this case and the recent robberies in their city.
East Providence Police Chief Hubert Paquette says police departments do communicate on a daily basis, and will bring those who break the law to justice.
Both men face second degree robbery and conspiracy charges and are held on 50-thousand dollars bail..
