Attacks in Iraq kill at least 28
MOSUL, Iraq Two insurgent attacks in the northern Iraqi city of Mosul have left at least 15 people dead, most of them police officers. And a police headquarters in the city of Baqouba (bah-KOO'-bah), north of Baghdad, was targeted with a car bomb. The explosives went off outside the main gate, killing 13 people.
In Mosul, a suicide bomber struck at a hospital compound, killing at least twelve policemen and injuring four others. One hospital spokesman says he heard the blast and when he went to check, he saw "bodies everywhere."
Police say insurgents also attacked a police station in Mosul, pounding it with mortar rounds. Three civilians were killed.
