Railroad fires three-man crew that parked train in fatal accident in South Carolina
COLUMBIA, S.C. Three longtime train crew members have been fired after a deadly chlorine leak was triggered by a collision last month in South Carolina. The three men each had at least 25 years of experience. Union officials say the men will appeal.
Norfolk Southern Railroad said the men failed to properly perform their duties. They're accused of failing to switch a track before the January sixth crash.
Nine people were killed, hundreds injured and thousands of Graniteville, South Carolina, residents evacuated when an oncoming freight train slammed into parked rail cars.
