Email to a Friend Printer Friendly Version

BAGHDAD, Iraq Gunmen in Iraq have seized a woman who writes for an Italian newspaper.

Iraqi police say the reporter (Giuliana Sgrena) was taken by four gunmen in a car near a bridge in central Baghdad. She works for the newspaper Il Manifesto.

She's at least the second Italian journalist kidnapped in Iraq. A freelance reporter was reported missing in mid-August and reported killed later that month.
