Poll shows Schwarzenegger still popular, but doubts on his priorities grow
SACRAMENTO, Calif. California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger still remains popular with voters, but his numbers are slipping with Democrats and independents. A poll conducted by the Public Policy Institute indicates 60 percent of Californians like what he's doing in Sacramento.
However, 49 percent of Democrats who were polled disapproved of his handling of the post. And the number of independents who disapprove has risen from 18 percent last year to 32 percent.
The survey also finds a majority isn't in favor of Schwarzenegger's handling of the state budget and education issues.
