American soldier killed during Iraq raid
BAGHDAD, Iraq A U-S soldier was killed during a raid north of Baghdad early Friday. A military statement says the soldier from the Army's First Infantry Division was involved in an operation to kill or capture members of an insurgent bomb-making cell.
Another soldier was wounded in the raid. One Iraqi was killed.
Troops detained 12 people.
