Frequent Fliers Make Their Choice
Email to a Friend Printer Friendly Version

(Undated-AP) -- Midwest Express Airlines again leads the way.

A Zagat survey of more than 31-thousand frequent flyers finds Midwest Airlines is rated the top airline in the country.

It was also the top vote-getter the last time Zagat did this survey, three years ago.

Tim Zagat says the only complaint was that Midwest Express doesn't fly to enough places.

He says travelers love the leather seats, chocolate chip cookies and getting their meals on china.

Midwest Express was followed by the new JetBlue, which just began flying in February. Then came Alaska airlines, Midway and National.

Of the major airlines, United, Continental, Delta and American were bunched very close together.

Zagat said the survey found that Continental has made huge strides in improving both its domestic and international service, and jumped from number 15 to number seven.

But overall, Zagat says the performance of most airlines has dropped in the three years since the last survey.

He says air travel has become less appealing for the average traveler, and even people flying business and first class noted that service always wasn't what it should be .
