State's economy shows some strength
PROVIDENCE, R.I. The state's economy is showing some strength, after months of malaise. An index created by a University of Rhode Island economics professor rose to 75 in October, its highest value since February.
The index follows 12 economic indicators, including employment, sales and wages.
Professor Leonard Lardaro created the index, which had been stuck at a neutral value of 50 for four months.
