Bush hosting two-day economic conference
WHITE HOUSE President Bush is kicking off a two-day economic conference today that he hopes will set the stage for major second-term initiatives. Conference sessions will cover everything from jobs and taxes to health care and the argument for capping lawsuit damages.
White House officials say they expect there will be a wide range of views. However, they acknowledge most participants agree with Bush's plans -- which include partially privatizing Social Security and overhauling the tax code.
Panelists include academics, government officials and business executives -- but, barring a last-minute change, nobody from organized labor.
