Majerus reportedly to take over at Southern Cal

LOS ANGELES Rick Majerus (mah-JEHR'-uhs) reportedly has found another team to coach.

E-S-P-N-dot-com says the former Utah coach will come out of retirement and take over Southern Cal's basketball program at the end of the current season.

Majerus retired last January because of health reasons. E-S-P-N says he was expected to sign a five-year deal and resign immediately as a college basketball analyst for the network.

The Trojans are expected to announce the hiring as early as Wednesday, according to E-S-P-N.

Majerus coached the Utes to the national championship game in 1998, falling to Kentucky.

The Trojans fired Henry Bibby last week after eight-plus seasons. Bibby was 131-and-11 with three N-C-A-A tournament appearances.
