Belichick offers congratulations to his offensive coordinator
FOXBORO,
Mass. (AP) -- Bill Belichick took a few minutes yesterday to convey his congratulations to his offensive coordinator on becoming Notre Dames head coach.
But now its time for Charlie Weis to get back to work for the Patriots.
Weis will finish the NFL season and Belichick doesnt expect his impending move will be a distraction.
Belichick says he and Weis have talked about the move and will (quote) work through it.
Weis handled his Patriots job in Sundays 35-to-28 win over Cincinnati in Foxboro, then left for South Bend, Indiana where he was introduced as Notre Dames coach yesterday.
Hell spend time on his new job while coaching the Patriots offense, requiring an adjustment in duties among New Englands assistants.
Belichick wouldnt give details or discuss who might succeed Weis next season.
