Pascoag Water Supply
Email to a Friend Printer Friendly Version

Pascoag:  Fourteen water safety conditions are imposed for Pascoag residents,  and the State Department of Health says all of them need to be met.

Tonight, the Pascoag Utility District's annual meeting was held and the Department of Health made demands. In order to keep the water supply safe, they impose conditions including extra treatments and monitoring.

The Chief of drinking water, June Swallow, says the changes will be in the best interest of Pascoag residents. She says one thing they learned back in 2001 was that that particular well in Pascoag became contaminated very, very fast.  She does not want to see that happen again, and says she wants to make sure the water supply is free of any other contaminants too.

Pascoag's well has been offline since 2001 when the gasoline additive M-T-B-E was found in the water supply.
