Jurors in Peterson case to resume deliberations Monday
Email to a Friend Printer Friendly Version

REDWOOD CITY, Calif. Some legal observers say the fact there was no quick sentence recommendation is a good sign for Scott Peterson.

Jurors return to work today in Redwood City, California, as they decide if Peterson should get the death penalty for murdering his pregnant wife, Laci.

The jury took the weekend off after deliberating for eight-and-a-half hours last week. The panel will remain sequestered until it reaches a unanimous agreement.

If jurors can't agree on a sentence, prosecutors must choose whether to retry the penalty phase or accept a default sentence of life in prison.
