Florida meteorologist pleads guilty to trying to lure minor for sex
MIAMI A former T-V weatherman faces five to 30 years in prison for pleading guilty to arranging a sexual encounter with someone he thought was a 14-year-old boy. Bill Kamal (kuh-MAHL') is a former chief meteorologist for W-S-V-N T-V in Miami.
Kamal's plea agreement calls for him to surrender his laptop and desktop computer, and to serve probation for the rest of his life.
Prosecutors say Kamal set up an October meeting at a convenience store in Fort Pierce, Florida, with a federal agent posing as a minor.
Kamal later acknowledged arranging the meeting, telling agents he did not intend to have sex with the teen, but only wanted a father-son relationship.
He'll be sentenced in February.
