Satellite radio expands its markets
UNDATED Satellite radio has invaded the home. Sirius Radio Vice President Ron Rodrigues says his company has developed a home receiver for a couple of hundred dollars. He says the company is also offering a free online service for subscribers who have the system in their cars and elsewhere.
Rodrigues says, quote, "there's an addressable base of 350 (m) million" potential customers for both his company and rival X-M Radio.
In addition to service at home and in the car, Sirius is also promoting plug and play portable systems and systems for boats, trucks and R-V.s
