California mother develops new carry-all
Email to a Friend Printer Friendly Version

UNDATED An odd name for a carry-all: Zuca (ZOO'-kah).

Lara Udall (YOO'-dahl) says she was frustrated with the back packs and carry-alls that her kids were using for school.

The San Jose mother of three decided that, rather than dwelling on the negative, she would take action.

The result: Zuca, an all-in-one carry-all that includes an aluminum outer frame that allows a user to attach bags with just velcro strips and a seat that can double as a platform for really heavy items.

Udall says her husband developed the prototype in their garage.

Her kids were the first sales people, showing off the bag to school friends in San Jose.

The Zuca, which is a made-up name, is sold online as well as in a number of stores, including Nordstrom's.
