MOSCOW Diamonds may be a girl's best friend -- but not when Russian officials find you carrying more than 35-thousand of them. One Russian women is trying to explain herself after customs officers at a Moscow airport spotted the gems as she was returning from the United Arab Emirates.
Officers spotted an expensive watch in one of her bags and then discovered at least 35-thousand cut diamonds on her body and in her luggage.
That's so many stones that one official says it took 12 hours just to count half of them.
The woman insists she bought the jewels for herself. But she says she paid about 115-thousand dollars, while investigators say they're worth as much as one (m) million dollars.
