Bush meeting with Iraqi president
Email to a Friend Printer Friendly Version

WHITE HOUSE (AP) -- President Bush is seeing Iraqs interim president todaywith less than two months to go before planned elections.

While other Sunni politicians in Iraq are calling for a delay in the voteand some are threatening a boycottPresident Ghazi al-Yawer says waiting beyond January 30th would be a mistake.

In a T-V interview yesterday, he said a postponement wont solve the problem of bloodshed in Sunni areas, and would justin his wordsprolong the agony.

The meeting with al-Yawer is the first of three, back-to-back on Bushs schedule today. The others are Senegals President Abdoulaye Wade and King Abdullah of Jordan.
