Lucchino says no free agent signings imminent
Email to a Friend Printer Friendly Version

BOSTON (AP) -- Curt Schilling is most concerned about the return of Jason Varitek than he is of any of Bostons other free agents, although it may take a while before the Red Sox sign any of them.

Team president Larry Lucchino says nothing is imminent.

Lucchino, Schilling, Doug Mirabelli and reliever Alan Embree attended a party at a nightclub across the street from Fenway Park where they were presented with Sports Illustrateds Sportsman of the Year award last night.

Schilling was on crutches after having surgery November 9th on his right ankle and said his recovery seems to be going O-K but hell know better when the cast is changed within ten days.

He should be ready for spring training. Mirabelli says its impossible for the Red Sox to let Varitek go.
