BOSTON (AP) -- Right-hander Carl Pavano visited Fenway Park yesterday.

The 28-year-old hurler who posted an 18-and-8 record with the Florida Marlins last season is on a national information tour of cities where he is considering playing next season.

The Red Sox did not present an offer to Pavano. He has rejected a three-year, 21 (m) million dollar offer to stay with the Marlins.

Red Sox manager Tony Francona and general manager Theo Epstein spent some time with Pavano, and showed him the teamÔŅĹs facilites.  He then went to Medfield and had dinner with Curt Shilling and his family.

Pavano once was in the Red Sox organization, but was traded as a farmhand to the Expos in 1997.
