Bush speaking at Clinton Library opening
WHITE HOUSE (AP) -- President Bush will be among those saluting his predecessor today at the opening of the Clinton Presidential Library.
The presidents joining his father and former President Jimmy Carter at the
Little Rock ceremonies. Of the living ex-presidents, only Gerald Ford wont be there.
White House Press Secretary Scott McClellan calls the opening a happy and historic occasion.
Even though Bill Clinton denied his father a second term, Bush has gone out of his way to praise the 42nd president. At a June unveiling for Clintons official White House portrait, he praised Clintons deep policy knowledge and forward-looking spirit.
Bush is stopping in Little Rock on the way to a weekend Pacific Rim summit in Santiago, Chile.
