Repeating for all needing Father says kidnappers threatening to kill child hostage in Iraq HASHEMEYAT, Iraq (AP) _ The father of a seven-year-old boy held hostage in Iraq says his kidnappers are threatening to behead the child unless they get 70-thousand dollars.
The father tells The Associated Press the kidnappers also asked him to sell his belongings and leave Iraq.
He says they've backed off their initial demand of 150-thousand dollars.
Gunmen kidnapped the Lebanese boy earlier this month as he was on his way home from school in an area east of Baghdad.
Lebanese Foreign Ministry officials say the Lebanese Embassy in Baghdad is trying to get the boy released.
