North Carolina man videotapes thief stealing political signs from yard
RALEIGH, N.C. An accused serial sign-stealer has been arrested in Raleigh, North Carolina. Edward Shook has been charged with misdemeanor larceny for allegedly swiping Bush-Cheney re-election signs from the yards of some of his neighbors.
Shook is a Democrat.
One of the neighbors, William Moore, a Republican, says he got suspicious when he noticed signs disappearing. So last Wednesday, he put up some of his own. By Thursday, they had disappeared. He put up some more Friday. They were gone Saturday. And Sunday's signs disappeared Monday.
Calling it a matter of principle as well as curiosity, Moore set up a camcorder yesterday and caught the culprit on tape.
Moore says no matter what party you support, it's important to be able to express your opinion.
