Teenage murderer to switch prisons
CRANSTON, R.I. Craig Price is going to another prison. The man who murdered four neighbors in Warwick as a teenager is being transferred to a facility in Florida. He left the state prison on Cranston yesterday morning and was put on a passenger exchange flight, according to a Corrections Department spokeswoman and a U.S. marshal's official.
Price says he was excited about the move, and hopes to have more access to a law library at the prison, so he can work on his appeals of his conviction and sentencing. He says it'd be his first flight.
At least one family member of a victim says prison officials should have consulted the public about the move.
Price committed the murders in 1989, when he was 13 years old. He's 31 now. He remains in jail on convictions unrelated to the murders.
